Productivity

I've been very productive in the past few days in quite a few ways. Because I've just spent a week (more or less) out of commission with my appendicitis and appendectomy (check cupcakenation.net for a more coherent but very brief account) I'm pretty loaded down with work. This means that I have been absolutely forced to focus, and I've been pretty darn successful at it. It's lovely. The boy situation is also...different again. Over parents' weekend, while not celebrating the grand news, I was dealing with the Eric Situation. We sort of had a little, *ahem* moment on Saturday night. OK, maybe not a little moment, strictly speaking. A moment that kept me up until 4 am. One of THOSE. Not of the highest order, but of an order that had a definite potential to make things much more complicated. It was fun, it was fine, everything was lovely, except for the very very tiny little detail that I don't actually like him that much. So I'd been avoiding dealing with the aftermath of my little oversight until he called me on Thursday to ask how I was doing after the surgery, and I drew him into talking about THE EVENT. As a highly medicated person, I was extremely honest, and not particularly tactful, but I don't think he was offended. However, there iwll be no more "me and Eric." Frankly, I'm kind of relieved that I got to be in charge of the ending. It was a very powerful position, and I did it very cleanly because the Vicodin talked for me. Never have I been so forthright! Never! Anyhow, it's over, and no one's feelings have been hurt, and I at least do not feel awwkward about it in the slightest.
